PIERCE BROSNAN

After Timothy Dalton hung up his hat in 1994 after his two outings, Pierce Brosnan dressed up in his 007 tuxedo for his portrayal of the famous secret agent in Goldeneye, Tomorrow never dies, The world is not enough and Die another day. His performance captured the timeless appeal of the character in a post-Cold War intrigue and high tech new world.

 

Pierce Brosnan was born in Drogheda, Republic of Ireland on May 16, 1953. He carved out a distinguished career as an artist and circus fire eater before making starring in Tennessee William's The Red Devil Battery Sign in London. He also starred as the private detective/con-artist 'Remington Steele' alongside Stephanie Zimbalist in the TV series Remington Steele from 1982 to 1987. He was initially offered the role of James Bond in 1986 but declined due to his commitments to Remington Steele. He entered into 007's tuxedo in 1995 for the movie Goldeneye. He went on to portray James Bond till 2002.

 

Pierce Brosnan resumed his James Bond type spy type role of CIA agent 'Peter Devereaux' in the movie November Man in 2014.
